Why Smile?

You tellme to smile,
Though I don't know why,
Because every time I think of you,
My soul lets out a cry,

It isn't a cry for sorrow,
Merely a silence in my heart,
That keeps on getting lounder,
The further we drift apart,

My tears they've formed an ocean,
Round beneth my feet,
Because I lost the very thing,
That caused my heart to beat.
