The Lad - Part 2

by Savio D'Silva

II

The lad strolls along the inner lane,
the tall grass whispers silently to thee,
manic thoughts and explosive feelings,
the young boy crept closer to listen,
searching for an answer, a reply, maybe,

Destiny is a cruel gamble when it's hot,
but a sunflower catches the lonesome eye,
the lad extends an empty hand,
to displace the flower from her stem,
notoriously he fiddles with her petals,
until the gown falls down, maybe,
in the fields he will find 'love',

The foremost thought in his mind,
is whether she will arrive or 'no',
pitifully he visits the shade of a tree,
humming a lonesome serenade,
poetry comes to those inspired, so,
the lad fell short of verse, maybe,
the dawn tommorow will change,
the way this dejected romantic feels, maybe..
